      <image:caption>Colleen Thurston is an award-winning media producer and documentary filmmaker from Tulsa, Oklahoma. As an Indigenous non-fiction storyteller, her films explore the relationships between humans and the natural world and focus on Native stories and perspectives.  She holds an MFA from Montana State University’s Science and Natural History Filmmaking program, where she also earned a graduate certificate in American Indian Studies. Her BA in Media Arts and Anthropology is from the University of Arizona.  Colleen has produced work for the Smithsonian Channel, Vox, illumiNATIVE and museums, public television stations, and federal and tribal organizations. She produced and directed short documentaries for four seasons of the Cherokee Nation’s series, “Osiyo, Voices of the Cherokee People,” earning two Emmy awards for her work on the series. Previous films include Chasing 14,000, SARDIS, and the recently completed Abundance. Her work has screened at international film festivals, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian’s Native Cinema Showcase and the Smithsonian Institution, and been broadcast nationwide.  With a background in film programming, Colleen also curates film and storytelling events with an emphasis on Indigenous and decolonial storytelling. Currently the co-Executive Director of the Fayetteville Film Festival, she previously held positions as the Film Programming Assistant at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian and was the founding Director of Programming of the Tulsa American Film Festival. She is an Assistant Professor in the University of Oklahoma’s Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication and teaches documentary studies and film production. Colleen is a 2019-2021 Firelight Media Documentary Lab Fellow, a Sundance Institute Indigenous Film Fund Fellow, a citizen of the Choctaw Nation and a seventh generation Oklahoman.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>MICHELLE LEE SVENSON (producer) is a Korean and Swedish American freelance film programmer, independent producer and distributor. She studied filmmaking at Boston University’s College of Communications and has since become an advocate for increasing the visibility of minority filmmakers’ voices.  She served as festivals producer, programmer and film consultant for the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian from 2000 - 2010, during which time she produced over fifteen film festivals, consulted on numerous productions such as PBS’s “We Shall Remain” series and productions by filmmakers Albert Maysles, John Sayles and Donald Ranvaud.  She has served on several granting and board committees for Native film initiatives, as well as the Tribeca Film Institute’s All Access program and IFP’s Feature Film project. Since, Michelle has been dedicated to working directly with artists and filmmakers in producing, distributing and marketing their films such as “Goff,” a documentary by Britni Harris, Blackhorse Lowe’s films including his award-winning short “Shimásání” and recent feature “Fukry” (Montreal First Peoples’ Festival Artistic Prize 2020).  Michelle also serves as part of the DocLands Documentary Film Festival programming team and is the Artistic Program Producer at the Tulsa Artist Fellowship.</image:caption>

She was recently the producer for Stacey Abrams for Governor 2022 and during the 2020 election was the lead producer for the voting rights organization Fair Fight Action in Georgia. This work resulted in historic consequences for our country. Her first feature documentary “GOFF” debuted in 2020 and she went on to co-create an outreach campaign “Goff Fest” to spark conversation around preservation.       <image:caption>CHARLES ELMORE (Director of Photography) is an Emmy Award-winning filmmaker from Tulsa, OK. He has worked in the Tulsa film and video industry since 2000 and has worked on dozens of films, music videos, and commercials.  His work has taken him across the United States, as well as to Haiti and Fiji. He has lent his camera work to projects for HGTV, Food Network, CNN, ESPN, Investigation Discovery and most recently on Lee Issac Chung's “Minari,” Sterlin Harjo's “Mekko,” Erika Tremblay's “Little Chief,” and the FX/Hulu breakthrough series “Reservation Dogs.”   Additionally, Charles has written and directed two feature-length films and just completed directing a short film, “The Chest” starring Dylan Baker and Becky Ann Baker. Charles is an advocate for film literacy and has pursued this in education as an adjunct professor for the University of Tulsa as well as by providing critical analysis for the publication The Tulsa Voice. DeRoin is co-editor of Water Zine, a community publication focused on Osage water sovereignty and cultural connection, and serves on the council of the Tulsa Two Spirit Society. Their work has been exhibited in Tulsa at TAC Gallery and Positive Space, and they regularly speak at community events and rallies across the region.       <image:caption>Melissa Lukenbaugh is a Tulsa-based photojournalist and documentarian whose interdisciplinary work bridges qualitative research, visual storytelling, and environmental policy. She holds a BA in English Literature from Oklahoma State University, documentary filmmaking credentials from the Duke Center for Documentary Studies, and a Master’s in International Development with a focus on Global Environmental Change and Adaptation from the University of Denver’s Josef Korbel School. Her decade-long documentary work on the HIV/AIDS pandemic took her across Ethiopia, South Africa, Liberia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, and Thailand. Currently, Melissa works closely with local organizations and community leaders on conservation and sustainability issues in Oklahoma, with a focus on Tulsa and the Arkansas River corridor. Her work explores the impacts of legacy oil and gas activity on land and water systems, and the potential for adaptation and innovation in environmental stewardship. Through still and moving images, she documents how communities reimagine their relationship with the natural world—placing storytelling at the center of resilience, health, and equity. Melissa is a 2025-2027 Tulsa Artist Fellowship Awardee.</image:caption>
